I'm the founder of Hana & George, which I run from my workshop in Somerset.
I studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, one of the world's leading art and design colleges, and since then have completed extensive training in traditional upholstery and lampshade making.
I've always had a love of art and design, and I decided it was time to follow my passion and start my own business. I find it incredibly rewarding in my work as an upholsterer to take an old family heirloom or an antique shop find and work with my customers to restore their piece to its former glory.
My lampshades are all wrapped, gathered, stitched and finished by hand. I started to diversify with my lampshades, to work with clay to construct my own lamp bases which all come in bright, vibrant colours with a contrast flex. I make these bases in my workshop on a commission basis, to compliment my unique shades. Each piece is totally unique and a ray of sunshine!
My priority is to create beautiful but functional items that my clients and their families will treasure for years to come.
My faithful companion, George the Pug, joins me in my workshop each day.
